Make it stand out.

I have been doing neon work for about three years. It started with an idle thought I had about whether anyone worked in neon any more. A fairly quick internet search brought up a 3 day neon course offering in Brooklyn about two months later. I took the course, making a small fish which I later mounted on black Plexiglas. Later in Vancouver I was talking to a neon supplier about the course and Andrew Hibbs’ wife overheard me saying, “I am sure my husband would be happy to have you study neon in his studio”. Although he had no idea what I was talking about when I called him, Andrew (Endeavour Neon) has graciously helped me as I struggled through learning the craft. I continue to work on the neon part of my designs in his studio. I love the interplay between light and form that neon allows, the history and the science of it all. Neon evokes an era and warms a dreary night.
