During WWII Rosie the Riveter was an inspiration for strong capable women responding in large numbers to fill the gap in the economy left by men heading off to war. This campaign may have done more to advance women’s independence than any other movement, since it showed women what they could accomplish and society in general what can be accomplished when there is a more equal gender partnership. I thought it would be nice to blend the symbol of this movement with the “Me Too” movement of late because advancement of women in the workforce should not come at the price of being abused.
